Thicker brows mean less frequent brow grooming, and bright, open eyes mean ditching the eyeliner. Kristen Fisher, the Director of Sydney’s premier eyebrow salon Kristen Fisher Eyebrows, shed some light on how she keeps her celebrity clients looking fresh and trendy.

Fisher’s most important tip for those in search of the perfect brow look is to let your brows grow. “Growing out your brows takes patience, but in most cases, it is definitely worth it,” she said. “You end up with a fuller, bushier brow which gives your brow artist a lot more room to move when shaping your brows.” As you allow your brows to grow, Fisher recommends filling them in with a brow powder and applying concealer below the brow to cover up any stray hairs.

One benefit to letting your brows grow out is that their natural shape will emerge. Though bold, Cara Delevigne-style brows are all the rage right now, Fisher warns that not every face was made to sport such big brows. Most of us simply look our best when we adhere to our natural brow shape, and a professional brow artist can help shape your brows in a way that are most suitable for your facial structure and size.

If you’ve tried letting your brows grow, but have achieved the look you desire, Fisher suggests opting for a semi-permanent fix, like microblading. Microblading, according to Fisher looks very natural and is a virtually pain-free process. “This is where we use a hypo-allergenic pigment and a super fine blade to create fine, hair-like strokes, which mimic your own hairs to create a fuller brow that won’t wash off,” she said.

One way to make your eyes appear more open and bright is a lash lift. “We lift the lashes from the root using a silicone pad so we get as much lift as possible. We tint them so they are super dark as well—you won’t need to wear makeup after this treatment,” Fisher said.

Heavy-handed contoured looks have been replaced by natural, barely-there makeup, and a thick, lifted lash will help you avoid extra makeup. In addition to lifting the lashes, Fisher suggests going without eyeliner or using a lighter shade than normal to create an even brighter and more natural eye look.
